2011 Air & Space Highlights: Author Nathan Hodge

Want to know another reason to be excited about this year’s Air & Space Conference and Technology Expo? Sessions and book signings by great authors! We already have nine book signings scheduled!

During AFA’s 2011 Air and Space Conference, author and security reporter Nathan Hodge will be joining us and sharing information about his new book, Armed Humanitarians: The Rise ofthe Nation Builders

In Armed Humanitarians, Hodge takes a critical look at the post-9/11 shift in U.S. foreign policy toward the act of nation building. Using firsthand reporting from Iraq and Afghanistan and extensive interviews with key figures, he covers topics pertaining to national security, international security, governance, reconstruction and development.
Hodge is a Washington, DC-based writer and has reported from Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Russia, and many other countries in the Middle East. Hodge specializes in writings based on national security and defense. His work has appeared in Slate, the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal and many other newspapers and magazines.

In his previous book, A Nuclear Family Vacation: Travels in the World of Atomic Weaponry (co-authored with his wife, Sharon Weinberger), they traveled to 10 U.S. states and 4 foreign countries to visit nuclear sites, including ones in Nevada, Russia and Iran.

We are very excited to have Nathan Hodge as one of our guest speakers, and eager to hear what he has to say about his reporting experiences and his recent book! If you've read this book or previous Nathan Hodge pieces, we'd love to hear your comments!
