Air Force Cycling Classic

If you are in the area this weekend and would like to be involved in a fun activity for all ages, come to the Air Force Cycling Classic! This event starts Saturday, June 11, 2011 (in Clarendon) and continues on through Sunday, June 12, 2011, (in Crystal City).

The Air Force Cycling Classic is a tradition that began in 1998, and is the DC region's premier Professional bike races. In 2008, the Air Force Cycling Challenge Crystal Ride was added, and has grown to become the area's largest non-competitive, participatory ride. This two-day cycling event  accommodates many ages and cycling abilities by hosting separate racing categories ranging from a kids race to amateur and professional races. You can come to just watch, or even join in on the excitement!

On Saturday the races begin at the Clarendon Metro Stop and will include amateur races, a kids' race and a men's pro race. Sunday's activities will begin at the Air Force Memorial with a ceremonial start, followed by an Air Force flyover, and then the races will begin in Crystal City! Check out a detailed schedule here!

This event will be a great way to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family, experience the talents of local and distant cyclists, and donate to a great cause. Proceeds of this events Breakaway Club and all donations to team Sabre and the Corporate Challenge will benefit the Air Force Aid Society.
