The media should make an explanation of the error in every day news commentary. The general public are the ones who get the wrong information and then run with it. Not because of what he thought about the president as a person but because of what some military person in the future could construe as permission to take political power. If his remarks had been kept private or between him and the president there would have been no problem. We need to keep civilian control of the military even though bad things like this may happen. I was on active duty and extremely happy to stay out of the politics when Pres. Nixon was in trouble.
